LITERAL BRANDING
I have been assigned to do the literal advertisement for this project. What is literal branding? Well the definition is in its name, it is to advertise what you are literary selling. For example, you we are selling fruit bars, so to advertise such, we can use a picture of a fruit bar and have a caption say, all natural fruit. Yes, simple as that. Actually no not really. Though the definition is quite simple, one wants to be clever and not be so dull to advertise what your selling but do it in a way that it is literal branding.

and the winner is.....
We had 3 great final logo options. We presented it to the panel and they chose this one. This one in particular has a certain style that communicates what the store is all about. The style is to be considered contemporary because we used colors as well as shapes or elements of design that were introduced in the 1960's until now. We also incorporate our certain characteristics that apply pr connect with our concept/theme.
For example, our theme/concept is based on Mexican traditions, celebrations and folk art, making the store as well as the products authentic. With in these traditions paper cut outs (also known as papel picado) is used as decorations with in the celebrations. They are very popular and important for the culture. We incorporated this style in the background, making the palates look cut out. Another characteristic is that the white cut outs looks like an authentic ice cream cone called raspados. The colors descibe to you some of the flavors that the paletas come it. Design elements such as Color, shapes, repetition etc all come together and create what you have below, our final logo for PALETOPIA.
NEXT!
Our next step is to advertise. Advertise, advertise advertise. Now the question is...
How are we going to do this?
So I say this to my team, thinking caps on...till next entry. :)
